The 960 Foul Bay Road development is a collaboration of Scott Travelbea (owner), Marking Development (Jennifer Travelbea), Zebra Group, KILO Architecture, Lombard North Group Planners & Architects, as well as Westplan Consulting Group (Mark Holland).
The development plans to have 40-foot tall townhomes facing the Brighton Greenway, as well as driveway exiting onto Brighton Ave. The townhomes will block views, shade the Greenway and increase traffic.
The development poses a serious risk to the safety of Brighton Greenway users.
The proposal offers no permeability plans and increased asphalt coverage for 30+ parking spots. The developer plans to cut down all of the trees including Garry Oaks and vegetation on the lot.
This, combined with the canopy loss, will result in the destruction of natural habitat.
The developer has made no plans to prevent the destruction of neighbouring Garry Oaks and other large trees.
Location: The development sits on the corner of Foul Bay Road and Brighton Avenue and will dramatically disrupt the Brighton Greenway, risking safety, greenspace and, natural habitat.
